Cuba

There was a great show on CBC tonight. I wish I had recorded it. It was a David Suzuki "The Nature of Things" special on Cuba. To make a long story short, he described how Cuba has basically turned to environmental methods to produce it's own food supply due to the fact that there were no other options as machinery and chemicals were unavailable because of the fall of the Soviet Union. There's a lot more to it but that's the short version. It pretty much confirmed my ideas that a self-sufficent utopia is actually possible - gotta run and start planning my commune!!

Mission Folk Festival

We went the folk festival last night around 7:30pm. It was so hot, thank goodness for the water misters. We cooled off under those, bought some popcicles and wandered around for awhile. It was great. Good music, nice people - a very relaxing evening. When we got home Joseph and I had a water fight in the back yard - good way to cool us off for the night.

Johnson Lake Resort

Just found this website "Johnson Lake Resort". The water looks amazing. Maybe we'll check it out this summer.

The boys....

at our friends BBQ. Mike finished baseball last weekend so after the last game we all got together at Ron and Nicoles house for a BBQ. The boys and Melia all had fun playing in the yard and Joseph absolutely LOVED Kylers John Deere tractor.
